Impeached former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, filling in as host of a Chicago radio show, told listeners that he was "hijacked" from office.
The former governor made news far beyond his state of Illinois when he was ousted after he was accused of trying to sell President Barack Obama's vacant U.S. Senate seat, among other things.
Blagojevich was filling in for two hours Wednesday on WLS radio in Chicago.
Lawmakers removed Blagojevich from office in January after his arrest on federal corruption charges. He's denied any wrongdoing.
The federal charges are still pending. Blagojevich hinted at his legal problems on air, saying he has some challenges ahead but that he trusts in the truth.
Blagojevich also took a moment to plug the book he's writing, but admitted it isn't coming easily. He joked about only being a few pages into it.
WLS-AM program director Bob Shomper said Blagojevich's appearance was a one-time deal in a slot normally filled by hosts who are off this week.
In January, WLS offered Blagojevich his own weekend radio show if he agreed to resign as governor.
Blagojevich didn't take the station up on that offer, and he was later ousted from office by Illinois lawmakers.
