Federal authorities are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever who planted the explosive that critically injured the head of the Arkansas State Medical Board.

Federal authorities are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever planted the homemade explosive that critically injured the head of the Arkansas State Medical Board.

Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives announced the reward on Wednesday.

The amount will be added to the $18,000 collected by the West Memphis Crimestoppers program, and another $12,000 donated by the State Medical Board, for a total reward fund of $50,000.

Dr. Trent Pierce continues to recover at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

West Memphis Police Chief Bob Paudert said although Pierce's condition is still critical, he is reported to be talking and responding to family, friends and medical staff.

Pierce lost one eye in the bombing and has had several surgeries to repair his extensive injuries. The 54-year-old Pierce was injured a month ago when the bomb exploded in the driveway of his West Memphis home. Police have named no suspects in the blast.
