A plane with 239 passengers from Denmark and Sweden has made an unscheduled landing in Morocco because of a small fire in the galley, a Danish travel operator said Monday.

Star Tour spokesman Stig Elling said no one was injured in the incident.

Elling said the Boeing 757 was en route from Copenhagen to Cape Verde, an archipelago off Africa's west coast, when a minor fire started in the galley.

The pilot decided to make "a controlled safety landing" at the nearest airport, which was in Casablanca, Morocco, Elling said. The cabin crew extinguished the fire.

Elling said there were 159 Danes and 80 Swedes aboard the flight.

It was not immediately clear how the fire started.
