The National Hurricane Center in Miami said Genevieve was 585 miles southwest of Cabo San Lucas in Baja California and was moving west-northwest at about 12 mph with winds clocked at 75 mph.

Forecasters said the storm will likely reach its peak intensity Friday and then start to weaken by Saturday. Genevieve was the fourth Pacific hurricane of the season.
