Police arrested a man carrying a shotgun and a sword outside the U.S. Capitol building Friday, authorities said.

A statement from the U.S. Capitol Police said Michael Steven Gorbey, 38, was arrested and was being charged as a felon in possession of a firearm.

No one was injured, said police spokeswoman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider said.

An officer first spotted the man near Union Station, about two blocks from the Capitol, and he was quickly arrested.

Police used a robotic camera to see inside man's vehicle but at first could not determine some "items of concern," Schneider said. A search of the truck uncovered ammunition but no other weapons or explosives.
