Two men were arrested Thursday in connection with a fire at an abortion clinic earlier this month and will likely face charges in the blaze, authorities said.

The fire department identified the two men as Sergio Baca, 22, and Chad Altman, 25, both of Albuquerque. They were scheduled to be in court Friday.

Authorities have said the clinic was considered a total loss after gasoline was thrown into the building through a broken window and lit on fire Dec. 6. Witnesses said they saw two men torch the office.

According to criminal complaint, Baca's roommate told authorities that Baca allegedly confessed to setting the fire because his former girlfriend was scheduled to have an abortion at the clinic.

There are no telephone listings for Baca or Altman in Albuquerque, and authorities did not immediately know who would be representing the two men when they make their first appearance in federal court.
