A 44-year-old male guest riding Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom was not responsive when his ride vehicle reached the unloading area. Jeffrey Reed of Navarre was given CPR and officials said there were no reported signs of trauma.
Investigators said Reed appeared to be conscious about 50 seconds before the end of the ride because his photograph was taken as the coaster neared the area where it is cleared of guests.
Reed was transported by Reedy Creek Emergency Services to Celebration Hospital where he later died.
A ride inspection showed that the ride was working properly.
Disney officials said the ride is closed until they can confirm that there was no malfunction.
The Sheriff's Office will continue their investigation.
"We offer the family our deepest sympathies and will provide assistance to them during this difficult time," a statement from Disney said.
