Northern Lights, $595
The Northern Lights Winter Adventure package includes three nights' accommodations at the River View Hotel in downtown Whitehorse, the historic capital of the Yukon Territory; nightly guided northern lights viewing tours; and a two-hour Whitehorse city tour highlighting top attractions and landmarks, such as the sternwheeler Klondike, Main Street, Train Depot of the White Pass & Yukon Route, and Schwatka Lake. All transfers by van, hot drinks and snacks, a key-chain thermometer, and an aurora borealis certificate are also covered. Rates start from $626 per person.

Details: The Canadian Goods and Services Tax (GST) is an additional 6 percent in 2007 and 5 percent in 2008. Airfare, meals, and gratuities are not included. A winter clothing package that includes outerwear pants and a jacket with inner fleece liners, winter boots, and insulated mitts and headgear can be rented for $110 per person for three nights and $135 per person for four nights (plus GST). Based on double occupancy; single supplement is $195. Five-night stays are $816 for a double room and $1,074 for a single.
Dogsledding, $1,950
The Dogsledding Adventure in the Yukon package includes six nights' shared accommodations divided between cabins at base camp and the heated wall-tent camp, as well as one night at the River View Hotel in Whitehorse. All meals, transfers, a city tour of Whitehorse, guided dogsledding with three to six huskies per sled to Jackson, Bonneville, and Coal lakes and up McIntyre Mountain Road, and provincial taxes are included. Rates start at $2,053 per person. Winter boots and a travel and information kit are available at no additional cost.
When: Wednesday and Saturday departures through Apr. 9, 2008.
Details: GST of 6 percent in 2007 and 5 percent in 2008, dinner in Whitehorse on the last day of the trip, alcoholic beverages, and personal expenses are not included. Winter clothing rentals of a jacket, pants, and a sleeping bag (from Northern Outfitters) are available for $25 per person.
