Pittsburgh police say a woman is facing charges after allegedly leaving her 1-year-old daughter in a storm.

A passer-by found the girl in a car Wednesday morning. She was strapped in a car seat, rain-soaked and covered with leaves and dirt. Police say the car's sunroof was open despite a violent storm. The baby apparently sat there for about 10 hours wearing only a diaper.

The mother was found in an apartment across the street. Police say 25-year-old Brandi Morgan initially denied having a child, then said she had been working and forgot about the baby.

Morgan faces charges of reckless endangerment, child endangerment, leaving a child unattended in a vehicle and resisting arrest. She is free on $10,000 dollars bond.

The baby was treated at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh for exposure and placed in county custody.
