Propane fumes forced dozens of patients out of a Central Florida nursing home on Thursday.
More than 100 residents were evacuated from the Rosemont Health and Rehabilitation Center after someone reported smelling the fumes on Thursday morning, WESH 2 News reported.
Authorities said the fumes were coming from a commercial water heater, and they said that the leak prompted an evacuation of the facility's north and south wings.
The Orlando Fire Department responded and began ventilating the facility. Some residents in the north wing were allowed back inside around noon.
Lynx buses were called to assist with the evacuation in case of rain or an extended stay outside. To comment on this story, send an e-mail to Bob Kealing.
