When the Okavango River - the third longest in Southern Africa – finds its end in northwestern Botswana in May, it creates an oasis for wildlife – a watery wonderland of channels, lakes and lagoons. Described as ‘the river that never finds the sea’, is the world’s largest inland delta, covering an area of over 17,000 square km and providing 95 percent of all surface water in Botswana.
The best time to visit is May-October when the delta is teeming with animals enjoying fresh drinking water. , and
