Drug distributor AmerisourceBergen Corp. and nursing home operator Kindred Healthcare Inc. said Tuesday they named four executives to their new joint pharmacy company.
The companies announced plans last year to spin off and combine their institutional pharmacy businesses to create the nation's second-largest independent provider of drugs to senior and alternate care facilities.
The new, publicly traded company, to be named PharMerica Corp., will be headquartered in Louisville Ky.
Michael J. Culotta, former chief financial officer of LifePoint Hospitals Inc., was named chief financial officer; and Mark A. McCullough, President of Kindred Pharmacy Services, was named chief operating officer.
In addition, Janice D. Rutkowski, president of PharMerica LTC, was named chief clinical officer, and Anthony A. Hernandez, a former senior vice president of Citigroup Inc.'s Citi Home Equity subsidiary, was named vice president of human resources.
The companies also said Tuesday that they agreed to extend the deal's closing date to July 31 from the previous target date of June 30, to allow additional time for the new company's registration statement to be declared effective and sent to prospective shareholders.
