The investigation has now stretched for almost 20 days.

Investigators walked over their files to the district attorney's office Friday afternoon, NBC11's Damian Trujillo reported.

Carr could decide early next week what, if any, charges to file against several people, including members of the DeAnza college baseball team.

She said she would have her team leaders review the report and give recommendations as to charges.

Carr said the job of the district attorney's office was to determine if a crime occurred.

When Trujillo asked Carr about timing, she said she would be sensitive to everyone's needs and make a decision as quickly as possible while at the same time she said she would be as thorough as she needed to be.

Carr said, "It will take some time."

Trujillo also spoke to Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith.

All Smith would say is that the official report was turned over to the district attorney, but added she had not seen it.

Earlier this week Santa Clara County deputies told Trujillo that everyone it wanted to get DNA samples from in the investigation agreed to the testing.

The alleged incident happened during a party at a home on South Buena Vista Avenue near West San Carlos Street, Santa Clara County Sheriff's Sgt. Ed Wise said.

"There were about 50 people at the party, both men and women," Wise said. "Some members of the baseball team were there as well as both De Anza students and nonstudents."

Eight members of the baseball team were suspended following the allegation.

Following the alleged rape the team forfeited three games and has since resumed its season shorthanded.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Sgt. Paula McAllister at 408-808-4500.
