Tuscaloosa, Ala. -- A local truck driver was in the home stretch of his drive back to Gordo when his trip suddenly took a dangerous turn.
David Reid logs 120,000 miles a year.
He's been making a living on the road that way for three decades.
Wednesday he took a trip he'd rather forget.
He was forced at gunpoint into his truck at a rest stop outside Tuscaloosa.
The 51 year-old drove an alleged suspect some 300 miles to Louisiana.
Reid said he believes the gunman was trying to transport drugs or some other illegal items.
While physically unhurt, that ride on the wrong side of a gun was emotionally difficult, and reid said he feared for his life.
He's filed a report with Tuscaloosa's police department in the hopes of catching the man responsible.
“Its probably going to be difficult to apprehend this individual, but the important thing is getting cooperation from your victim the more cooperation you get from the victim the better chance we have of solving that case,” said Lt. Steven Anderson of the Tuscaloosa Police.
