Three women involved in the slaying of a Santa Cruz man have pleaded guilty. Juliana Garcia and Maria Sanchez both entered guilty pleas to manslaughter in the death of 61-year-old John Beltran. They each received 10-year sentences.
A third woman, Jessica Garcia, pleaded guilty to accessory charges and got a one-year suspended sentence.
Prosecutors said Beltran was shot to death a year ago outside of the Towers office complex by brothers Moises Birelas and Uriel Luengas.
Police said they believe it was an attempted robbery gone wrong.
All three women were expected to testify against the brothers.
