Police activity along Highway 99 in south Sacramento early Wednesday led to a traffic backup and possibly contributed to a hit-and-run wreck. The incident began with a police pursuit at about 6 a.m. that ended on southbound Highway 99 near 47th Avenue.
Police cars that arrived blocked the freeway slow lane and flares were put out to control traffic.
Officers then left the area, but the flares remained.
A short time later, LiveCopter 3 captured video of one car slowing for the flares and another vehicle hitting it from behind.
The second vehicle then fled. The person in the car that was hit complained of becoming dizzy and an ambulance was called.
