A woman fatally shot a hospital pharmacy worker in the head Monday, authorities said. Television stations reported the shooting came after the woman was told to go to the back of the line.

Lt. Pat Ivey, head of the Jacksonville Sheriff Office's homicide unit, said 37-year-old Shannon McCants died shortly after the 9 a.m. shooting at Shands Jacksonville hospital.

The suspect, 46-year-old Brenda Cooney, was arrested without incident, authorities said. She was being questioned and her small red car was seen being hauled from the hospital parking lot.

Sgt. Andre Ayoub of the sheriff's office, said about 15 to 20 people were in the pharmacy at the time of the shooting. He said Ivey was hit once in the head and once or twice elsewhere on her body.

Authorities would not say how many shots were fired.
