A Boeing Delta 2 rocket blasted off Friday, carrying another global positioning satellite into space.
The new 4,540-pound (2,063-kilogram) satellite will be used by the military and civilians to provide navigation and timing data.
Seven of Boeing's Delta rockets have been launched this year.
The launch was delayed earlier in the week due to technical difficulties and foul weather, Boeing spokesman Michael Rein said.
The $75 million satellite will replace another craft that was put into place in 1993. The older craft will be used as a backup.
