HOTSOUP is an issues-based online community where people can sound off, swap ideas and learn from local and national leaders from all walks of life.
Ron Fournier, the former chief political writer for the Associated Press, left the world’s oldest and largest news organization to become editor-in-chief of HOTSOUP. As an introduction to the site each day, he will offer MSNBC.com users a look at the hottest issues discussed in forums, or ‘Issue Loops’ created and run by members of HOTSOUP.
Where is a good place to eat out? What’s the best car to buy? Who is the best candidate for school board or for president? More and more, Americans are turning to friends, colleagues and neighbors to answer such questions. HOTSOUP is seeking to build communities of these Opinion Drivers to make that conversation possible online. Weekly, Fournier will report on the news that the community at HOTSOUP has broken or sought to influence.
