President Bush stumps in Georgia and Texas today as he kicks off the last full week of Campaign '06.
He has rallies at Georgia Southern University and in former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's district.
As the mid-term election campaign heads into the home stretch, Bush is predicting the G-O-P will defy forecasts of a Democratic takeover of one or maybe both houses of Congress.
Georgia is one state where Republicans hope to take House seats away from Democrats. Today's rally is in the 12th district, where Max Burns seeks to regain the seat he once held by ousting two-term Democratic Congressman John Barrow.
But DeLay's Texas seat may be a lost cause. DeLay resigned from Congress in June after he was indicted on campaign finance charges. Republicans couldn't replace him on the ballot and have mounted a write-in campaign for Shelley Sekula-Gibbs. But Democrat Nick Lampson is favored.
