Nicole Hastings, who has terminal cancer, will have the wedding of her dreams in Mentor, near Cleveland, doctors said Friday.

Hastings will exchange vows in a church commitment ceremony similar to the ones used in same-sex unions. A traditional marriage would leave Hastings without coverage under her family’s health insurance, so a friend came up with the alternative.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is paying for the big day, which will include a wedding party of 16 people and a reception with a lavish dinner, a disc jockey and a cake.
