Some area candidates are moving ahead into the fall campaign with the official backing of their party. D-F-L delegates from District 30 gathered over the weekend for their 2006 convention.

The main order of business was to vote on their party endorsements.

The delegates gave unanimous support to senate candidate Ann Lynch, who's looking to fill the seat currently held by Sheila Kiscaden.

Delegates also endorsed State Representatives Andy Welti and Tina Liebling for re-election.

Katherine Speer, DFL - Chair of Senate District 30 says "The importance of it is that it keeps the grass roots involved with the actual people that they want to represent them."

Delegates also elected party officers and approved the District Constitution.
