A white powder substance found on a school bus in Clinton caused a scare Wednesday afternoon.
The FBI, Police, firefighters and the DEP responded to the Abraham Pierson Elementary School on East Main Street just before 4 p.m. The powder was found on a bus at the school as students were ending their day.
21 Students were on the bus, and had to go through a decontamination process as a precaution.
It turns out, a Clinton High School chemistry teacher called authorities and helped solve the powder scare after seeing coverage of the incident on television.
After testing the substance, authorities determined it was a non-hazardous polymer, which is a substance that's often used to absorb liquid in baby diapers.
