Britney Spears’ hubby has been earning extra cash by charging to show up at soirees; his fee for a cameo, according to In Touch Weekly, is a whopping $20,000.
And Spears is reportedly thrilled that, with Rent-A-Kevin and other gigs, her former back-up dancer actually has an income. In fact, Federline has supposedly earned $700,000 in the last four months.
Among K-Fed’s other paying gigs, according to ITW: an estimated $250,000 for endorsing clothing line Blue Marlin and $25,000 per day to hawk such products as Virgin Mobile cell phones, where he made his infamous plea to save the penny. He’s negotiating to sign a deal with Jive Records, which happens to be Spears’ label, for $300,000 per album, and he also hopes to bring out his own line of jeans and beach jewelry.
With Federline raking in all this cash he reportedly did something that once would have been unthinkable: When he and Spears recently went to a restaurant, ITW claims Federline actually picked up the tab.
Heavy metal, light eatersDef Leppard might seem like a band of bad-attitude heavy-metal dudes, but several members of the band don’t eat meat. In fact, lead guitarist Phil Collen is a hard-core veggie and becoming a pitchman for animal-rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
Collen says he hasn’t eaten meat in 20 years. “It started freaking me out eating dead body parts,” Collen told PETA’s Web site. “The whole [cannibal serial killer] Jeffrey Dahmer fridge concept of things was weird. It started when I was a kid, but you know, you have that whole parent propaganda when they say, ‘Oh no, you got to eat this, and it’s OK,’ and even when you go, ‘Well, that chicken is kind of like … a dog,’ and they go, ‘Come on, eat, eat, eat your meat,’ and I always felt kind of uncomfortable.”

He also says that with the duo’s upcoming, long-delayed film “Idlewild,” Outkast expects to have both the nation’s number-one film and number-one album. . . . “Clerks” director Kevin Smith says he couldn’t understand why a babe like Rosario Dawson would want to star in the sequel to his 1994 slacker flick — until he met her and she started quoting from obscure comic books. “She’s a fan girl,” Smith told Entertainment Weekly. “The hottest geek on earth.”
