The government on Thursday announced a recall of some 1.2 million high chairs, saying they posed a fall hazard to children.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the voluntary recall of the high chairs made by Graco Children's Products, Inc., of Atlanta, Ga.

"Screws holding the front legs of the high chair can loosen and fall out," the regulatory agency said, adding that cracking plastic brackets could also cause the chair to "tip over unexpectedly."

The affected Harmony models were produced between November 2003 through December 2009 and sold at major retailers nationwide, including Sears, Target and Wal-Mart.

For a complete list of the recalled models and to order a repair kit, go to the Graco Baby site. Consumers can also called the CPSC recall hotline at 877-842-3206.

The tip-overs resulted in 24 reports of injuries including bumps and bruises to the head, a hairline fracture to the arm and cuts, bumps and bruises and scratches to the body, the Commission said. Graco had received 464 reports of screws loosening or falling out, according to CPSC. Consumers were advised to stop using the high chairs immediately.

It's the second recent recall of Graco products. In January, the company recalled about 1.5 million strollers after some children's fingertips were amputated by hinges on the products.
