British scientists say they have invented a device that could help people overcome the dreaded sound of the dentist's drill.
Brian Miller, a professor of dentistry at King's College London who led the research, says the device works like noise-cancelling headphones and is designed to cover the high-pitched noise of the dentist's drill.
He says patients disturbed by the drill's noise can plug the device into their music players and listen to their own music while blocking out the sound of the drill and suction equipment.
Miller said Monday he has a prototype of the product ready and is seeking an investor to help bring the invention to the market.
