On VH1's "RuPaul's Drag Race," currently in the midst of its ninth season, 14 drag queens "lip sync for their lives" and complete other challenges to win the title of America's Next Drag Superstar. But designer and RuPaul fan Mark Fitzpatrick is competing in a different kind of challenge: He's trying to rally support for "RuPaul's Brick Race."

Submitted to Lego Ideas, the Lego Group's platform for crowdsourcing ideas that can potentially be turned into real-world products, Fitzpatrick's project features RuPaul and other familiar faces from the show as Lego characters.

"It's a loving homage to everyone's favorite drag-fest," Fitzpatrick told NBC Out. "It blends the color, whimsy, fun and creativity of the RuPaul and Lego universes."

Among the figures in "RuPaul's Brick Race" are fan favorites Bianca Del Rio and Katya Zamolodchikova, as well as judges Michelle Visage and Ross Matthews. There's even a workroom set and, of course, plenty of wigs.

To date, the project has received more than 6,000 votes. If it reaches 10,000, the concept will graduate to an official Lego review process. Among the other projects being considered in Lego Ideas are a "Gilmore Girls" set and a lighthouse.

Fitzpatrick noted that even if the project reaches 10,000 votes, there's no guarantee that it will be made due to logistics and licensing.

"Still, getting this set to the official review stage sends a positive signal to the Lego company that there is interest in diverse toys and the representation of LGBTQI lives in Lego land," Fitzpatrick said.
