Just in time for back-to-school season, national non-profit Campus Pride has released its lists of the best and worst colleges for LGBTQ students.

Its "Best of the Best" ranking includes the 30 most inclusive colleges and universities in the U.S. when it comes to "LGBTQ-friendly policies, programs and practices." Princeton, Rutgers, University of Pennsylvania and UCLA are among the schools that made the list.

But not all institutions of higher learning are welcoming LGBTQ students with open arms. For the first time, Campus Pride has released a national list of "The Absolute Worst Campuses for LGBTQ Youth." This list includes 102 colleges and universities that "openly discriminate against LGBTQ youth in policies, programs and practices." Brigham Young, Concordia and Liberty University are among the schools that made the list.

“Most people are shocked when they learn that there are college campuses still today that openly discriminate against LGBTQ youth,” Shane Windmeyer, Executive Director of Campus Pride, stated. “Ultimately these campuses are dangerous for vulnerable LGBTQ youth and others. All families and youth deserve to know this information –- and so do corporations who do business with these campuses."
