Murrow, who would now be 41, was last seen in Enid, Oklahoma on August 24th, 2014. According to police, Murrow had texted several people that day saying he was in the Enid and Canton areas.
Days later, Murrow’s pickup truck was found abandoned near Canton Lake.
Several weeks after Murrow disappeared, the Alva Police Department requested assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI). Detectives continue to hunt down leads and say they believe foul play is involved.
“I talked to an investigator a couple of weeks ago, and he is still conducting interviews,” OSBI Public Information Officer Jessica Brown told Enid News in August. “We are still working on it, and that is promising.”
Some have speculated online that because Murrow had several run-ins with the law over the years, he simply left on his own will. However, his family insists his disappearance has anything to do with that in any way.
Murrow loved to watch his four children participate in rodeos and bull riding, according to the many of his previous postings on Facebook. Friends describe him as a ‘real cowboy’ who despite being a bit rough around the edges, had a real soft spot for his kids.
"A true friend is real hard to come by and good dads are real hard to come by. And he was both," said Beeson.
