1. HopStop
I live in New York City, and this terrific app helps me figure out how to navigate public transportation when I’m in unfamiliar territory.
2. UP
In my forthcoming book about habit-formation, I describe how the Strategy of Monitoring helps people to foster good habits, and using the Jawbone UP band helps me monitor my sleep, my eating, and my steps per day—I thought it might be a drag, but it’s surprisingly fun.
3. FlightStats
I recently got this app after my mother told me that it was a great way to keep up with flight status information.
4. Instagram
I really enjoy posting images to Instagram; looking for great photo opportunities makes me alert to the world in a new way
5. Twitter
I love social media and usually connect from my desktop, but sometimes when I’m away from my desk for a long time, I use the app.
