The 21-year-old was last seen in Detroit on Wednesday, June 24.

UPDATE 7/27/26: According to her cousin Tamika Tucker, Denijah has been found safe. Jasmin Barmore, Director of Media Relations for the Detroit Police Department, confirmed the news to Dateline, saying Denijah was located on July 24 and “there were no signs or evidence indicating foul play.”

For nearly three weeks, 21-year-old Denijah Myers has been missing, and her family is in agony.

“We love you. Come home. We are not mad. We’ll work it out,” second cousin Tamika Tucker told Dateline. “Whatever fears you have, we’ll figure it out. Just come home, please.”

Denijah was born in Detroit and spent much of her childhood in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she was cared for by her great-grandmother and Tamika. Toward the end of high school, Denijah returned to Detroit, where she has lived ever since.

At the time of her disappearance, Denijah was enrolled in beauty school and living at her mother’s apartment. She is six to seven months pregnant and, according to family, has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, a condition Tamika says they only recently learned about. She was last seen at 6 Mile and Lahser Roads in Detroit.

On the evening of June 24, Denijah’s twin sister was the last family member to see her. “They were getting ready for bed, and once they went to bed, the next morning she wasn’t there,” Tamika said.

As a child, Denijah participated in dance recitals, school activities, and spent time with her sisters. Her family affectionately calls her Ladybug. “She’s kind. She’s soft-spoken. Her smile is beautiful. She’s like a little ladybug, so precious and just beautiful,” Tamika said.

The nickname stuck and distinguished her from her identical twin, with whom she shares a close bond. So close that when Denijah began attending hairdressing school — a passion she developed right out of high school — her twin often served as her mannequin, allowing her to practice different hairstyles.“One is left, one is right, that’s really how I can describe them. They did everything together,” Tamika said.

Denijah had also been very active on social media since she was a young teen. Her presence there became an important way for Tamika to stay connected with her since they lived in different states.“I do know that she’s gonna get on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok every day, and she’s gonna dance. She definitely is going to express her feelings, say some encouraging words,” Tamika explained.

Denijah hasn’t posted on social media for weeks now.

“She’s never been gone for a long period of time. I think, you know, experience being grown, you know, doing your thing is, is something totally different from not being present. As I said, I keep up with a lot of my family through social media, and I can honestly say that girl is going to post. That girl is gonna dance. That girl is gonna show what she learned in school as far as hair. She’s gonna do that.”

According to the Detroit Police Department, Denijah was reported missing on June 25, 2026, at approximately 3:49 p.m. “She was last seen on June 24th when she left her home. She is described to have some mental health issues. The case is currently under investigation by the department’s 8th Precinct,” the department’s media relations division told Dateline in an email. They were unable to share any additional information as the case is active and ongoing.

Denijah’s family continues searching for answers, organizing community searches, and following up on any potential leads.

“Ladybug is a wonderful person and she’s sweet. She’s beautiful. We just want her home with her twin, her mother, her other siblings, my grandmother, who is her great-grandmother, to deliver a healthy baby and be part of this joy: to see her, you know, become a first-time mother,” Tamika said.

Denijah Myers is 5’ tall, weighs approximately 120 lbs., and has dark brown hair and brown eyes. She has a tattoo on her right arm and another on the right side of her stomach. Denijah was last seen wearing red and black pajama pants, a black hoodie, and may have been carrying a black purse.

Anyone with information about Denijah Myers’s disappearance is urged to contact the Detroit Police Department at 313-596-5840 or call 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
