Spring in Noblesville, Indiana, is mushroom hunting season. Scavengers head into the woods searching for the best mushrooms to bring home and fry up.
Others go for long walks along country roads. Jennie Thomas is a walker. On April 24, 2020, Jennie was on her usual afternoon stroll when she came across something horrific on the side of a road. There was no mistaking what it was: a man’s body. It was 50-year-old David Fouts.
Maybe David was out mushroom hunting and collapsed? But he was a healthy guy, an active cyclist. And this was curious: David wasn’t wearing a shirt or shoes. Who would go out in the woods like that?
Investigators soon determined this was no accidental death. It was homicide.
