Israel’s major early-morning attack on Iran killed military leaders and scientists, damaged the country’s nuclear facilities and escalated long-running tensions in the region.
More than 200 Israeli jets fired on targets across Iran. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian promised a “powerful response,” before Iran launched a round of retaliatory missile attacks into Israel. More than 200 people in Iran have been killed in the attacks, according to state media.
