Trump Stays On Script In North Carolina
HIGH POINT, N.C. — Donald Trump has never been one for repetitive speeches or recycled remarks. But Tuesday afternoon, the GOP presidential nominee used what sounded like the same remarks from the day before.
Trump again attacked Hillary Clinton for what he calls an “open border” foreign policy and for her tough words for Trump supporters when she won’t use the phrase “radical Islamic terror.”
“How many people who subscribe to radical Islamic views…would you call deplorable or irredeemable?” Trump said, hammering a newly begun strategy to continue capitalizing off of Clinton calling “half” of his supporters “deplorables.”
“Refusing to call out radical Islam will not lessen the danger,” Trump instructed Clinton. “It will only increase and embolden the danger.”
Trump’s audience skewed younger than most of the crowds he often draws, likely due to the event’s location at High Point University’s basketball arena. The candidate rarely strayed from prompter and lacked the well-known crescendo of his voice when he’s building to a point. It was the first of two rallies he will hold in the Tar Heel State on Monday.
