Hillary Clinton's Campaign Manager Robby Mook Calls for the FBI to Provide Context
Hillary Clinton's campaign manager Robby Mook appeared on "Meet the Press" Sunday to call for the FBI to share any unreleased information relating to the ongoing Clinton email investigation.
“I think the issue here is that if [FBI Director James Comey] doesn’t come out and get all the information on the table he’s going to let anyone, any conspiracy theory, take the day,” Mook told NBC's Chuck Todd.
Mook said the campaign couldn’t clear up the controversy because the letter Comey sent to 16 members of the House and Senate was vaguely worded — so the campaign did not know whose emails the FBI director was referring to, nor how many.
Though Clinton supporters have used harsh words against Comey, Mook abstained from going after the FBI director directly.
“Director Comey does have a long and distinguished record. That’s why people are particularly puzzled about this letter sent to the Hill,” Mook said. “First and foremost it was three paragraphs. It didn’t provide any details whatsoever. He said there were some emails. He didn’t know if they were significant or not.”
Though Donald Trump’s campaign has seen a surge in support since Comey announced they had potentially discovered new emails relating to the investigation into Clinton’s private email server, Mook reported that the Clinton campaign has also seen a growth of fundraising and volunteering over the weekend.
