Bruce Springsteen: Trump's Campaign Is Going Down
On the eve of the election, Bruce Springsteen rallied Hillary Clinton supporters on the steps of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, offering full-throated support for the Democratic nominee the night before Election Day.
After playing acoustic versions of his classic hits like “Thunder Road” and “Dancing in the Dark,” Springsteen said he was supporting Clinton so that he could say he stood “on the right side of history.”
“This is a country where we are indeed and where we will be stronger together,” Springsteen said, later adding, “that’s why I’m standing here tonight for the dream of a better America.”
But Springsteen also lashed out at what he called Trump’s “profound lack of decency.”
“(Trump is) somebody who would be willing to damage our long cherished and admired system, rather than look to himself for the reasons behind his own epic failure,” Springsteen said. “That’s unforgivable. Tomorrow, those ideas and that campaign is going down!”
