You'll have a little less elbow room on your way to the turkey feast this year. Over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, 46.3 million Americans are expected to hit the road and travel 50 miles or more, predicts the AAA car lobbying group and travel agency. That's the highest since 2007, just before the recession hit, and a 4.2 percent increase from last year. While roads will be more squeezed, wallets will be crimped less. Drivers can enjoy low gas prices, with the average retail gas price around the country at $2.85. That's a $6.97 savings for a family driving 300 miles, enough to spring for a slightly fancier bottle, or two, of wine to show up with at the door.
