GALVESTON, Texas -- A crew member fell off the Carnival Cruise ship Magic Saturday night. The ship was off the coast of Galveston when the accident happened at about 10:35 p.m.

The U.S. Coast Guard told Local 2 they were called to rescue the man from the water. But before USCG could arrive the cruise ship's crew had already launched a rescue boat and pulled the man from the water. He was in the water for less than 45 minutes.

The cruise line says the man was working on the deck when he slipped over the railing. The Coast Guard said the man is OK.

The Carnival Magic was scheduled to dock in Galveston Sunday morning.
