"Both mother and son are in good health and have been discharged from the local hospital in Yangon,” the airline said in a Facebook post this week.

Three doctors were on the flight from Singapore to Yangon and the baby was delivered by the doctors and crew members after the plane landed, according to Jetstar Asia.

The airline said it was donating around $744 worth of baby supplies to the family.

It singled out crew member Saw Ler Htu for his actions, and said he "exercised utmost care and concern for the passenger, calling for medical assistance on board the aircraft when required." He later visited the mother in the hospital with gifts.

Jetstar requires anyone pregnant more than 28 weeks to carry a medical letter certifying air travel is safe, and allows those up to 40 weeks pregnant, or about 10 months, to travel on flights of four hours or less.

American Airlines requires a note for pregnant travelers who have a due date within 4 weeks of the due date and JetBlue requires a doctor's certificate for passengers expecting delivery within 7 days. Delta has no restrictions, and Southwest advises against air travel after the 38th week.
