In what could be seen as a bold bid to become more hated than the IRS, both major political parties, and all the Kardashians combined, the New York City Department of Health may attempt to get rid of happy hour.
The New York Post reports today that a proposal to outlaw beer and liquor specials is being pushed by the department’s “marathon running” chief, Thomas Farley. The post cited “sources.”
The department issued a flat denial, saying no plans exist “to pursue any policy around discount-alcohol sales.”
“What’s next — brunch?” lounge owner Tom Shanahan told the Post.
