64 Deep Lane, Amagansett, New York

For sale: $7.9 million

It's the trophy property for everyone who has everything.

Everything but a windmill home, joked Prudential Douglas Elliman listing agent Bobby Rosenbaum.

But really, he adds, it's more than just an unusual property.

"There's a certain magic to that property," he said. "Five and a half acres of rolling lawn and trees and the ability to enlarge the windmill home or build up to a 30,000-square-foot addition."

And for under $8 million, it's quite a steal, especially for the Hamptons.

The home was converted from a working windmill by Samuel Rubin, the creator of the Faberge cosmetics company, in the 1950s. After Rubin, the home hosted a number of creative types ranging from writer Kurt Vonnegut, who spent a few summers writing there, to designers for Ralph Lauren and British actor Terence Stamp.

Of course, there's also a rumor that Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller spent a weekend or two at the Amagansett home as well.

Down the road from a conservatory trust, (and around the corner from Alec Baldwin's Hamptons place), the home has three bedrooms and one bath. The windmill is three stories: the first floor holds the living area, the second floor is a bedroom and the third floor has an area that could be converted into a bedroom or used as a storage area.

Rosenbaum says he did present the property to Baldwin and Lauren, both who are longtime Long Island residents.

"(Baldwin) has not come back with an offer, so I don't think he wants the property," Rosenbaum said. "But when I presented the brochure to him, he was aware of the it (the home)."

"It just gives someone else the chance to buy the property," he continued.

According to Zillow's mortgage calculator, a monthly payment on the home would be $27,651, assuming a 20 percent down payment on a 30-year mortgage.
