The Porsche 911 GT3 is one smokin' hot sports car. Unfortunately, two of the $130,000 cars were a little too hot and burst into flames.
On Thursday, the German automaker sent out a notice advising owners of the 785 high-performance models it built this year to stop driving them until it figures out the problem.
Volkswagen-owned Porsche said it was checking the engines of the GT3, the most expensive version of its overhauled 911 two-seater.
Engineers are examining the remains of the gutted vehicles in Switzerland and Italy to determine the cause of the fires.
The problem affects all 785 GT3 cars from the 2014 model year, including 408 in the U.S.
